Global Issues in Context is a database we subscribe to at Southpointe Academy. This database has articles and videos exploring global issues that are at a level suitable for students. You can search this database for articles related to poverty or to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Global Issues in Context requires a username and password for you to access it. Ask your teacher or your teacher librarian for the username and password.

If you explore the "What We Do" section, you will also find general information about human rights issues.

BBC World Service - Your Rights Made Simple
This website looks at the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights in simplified terms and then provides a link to an actual case study that explores each basic human right. If you click on the "Front Page" tab, it will take you to a page that has more developed case studies.

UNICEF Canada's Children's Rights
This site looks at the Convention on the Rights of a Child and also looks into the rights children have in Canada as well as the rest of the world.
